Nicola leads for IBM UK in the development and deployment of its "green" IT services. Work with clients has shown that there is significant scope for energy efficiency improvements to be made across IT infrastructures and that this is key to the sustainability of organisations in the future. We all need to do more with less and many of the approaches to achieving this will require an underpinning IT infrastructure which is both optimised and dynamic.

Nicola also leads the work of the IBM UK Energy and Environment Board to respond to the Carbon Reduction Commitment and to leverage the energy efficiency of our own data centres for the benefit of our clients.

Nicola has a background in systems engineering with IBM, before taking up roles in commercial and business management in IBM UK Global Technology Services. Nicola's first career was in local government, latterly working for the Inner London Education Authority as Head of Schools Management for Tower Hamlets. Nicola has a BA Hons from Oxford University in Philosophy, Politics and Economics and an MBA from the Open University.
