Bob Carter qualified as an accountant in 1979. He has nearly thirty years of Local Government experience which includes twenty years experience in IT support within the local authority sector and was Head of Service Delivery for Business Solutions & IT with Birmingham City Council since January 2004 until the creation of a new joint venture company Service Birmingham in April 2006. As Head of Service Delivery as well as ensuring the delivery of excellent core IT services, he had the remit to help drive forward a business transformation programme across the Council including securing additional capacity via the creation of a strategic partnership. His current challenges as Director of Strategy and Policy with Service Birmingham are helping to nurture the organisational commitment to the change programme and assist in developing the capacity to support it.
